The Buildings

Overview

Royal Mills is an eclectic mix of historic, listed mills and modern, new apartment buildings. Together they have become one of the city’s most sought after residential locations.

Carefully considered external finishes within the new buildings have been designed to complement the rich, industrial architectural style of the original mills. Together, this stylish blend of old and new combines to make Royal Mills a destination unrivalled anywhere else in the city.

Royal Mill

Situated adjacent to the restored Rochdale Canal, Royal Mill has been lovingly restored to create just 40 one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses.

Period features retained include exposed brickwork and structural steel columns and combine with unashamedly modern kitchens and bathrooms, to create a unique style.

A limited number of duplex penthouses are available, each offering purchasers a generous private terrace.

Paragon Mill

Paragon Mill has undergone a sympathetic restoration with period features being retained and juxtaposed with numerous modernist touches.

The mill is located overlooking Cutting Room Square and St Peter’s church – home to the Halle Orchestra.

Apartments within the mill are limited to just 40, some of which benefit from private roof terraces and all of which offer a sense of style difficult to match elsewhere in the city.

Kennedy Building

The Kennedy Building is the final phase of the Royal Mills scheme and is a brand new apartment building, designed and built to complement its historic neighbours.

Intelligent design will ensure that the Kennedy Building has its own characteristics and identity, whilst remaining an inherent part of the Royal Mills development.
